This is the second straight year a Nebraska high school quarterback will be competing in the Elite 11 as Oklahoma State Cowboy quarterback Zane Flores attended, but was not chosen as finalist. The quarterback had a big junior season for Bellevue West where he helped the Thunderbirds reach the Class A quarterfinals and Kaelin finished with 36 touchdowns and 3,186 yards passing. Kaelin joins other Nebraska quarterback commits in the past like Patrick O’Brien and Johnny Stanton, though neither were ultimately selected for the honor. The Elite 11 is a series of quarterback camps which operate to determine the best 11 high school quarterbacks in the country.
